Recruitment Counselors (otherwise known as Pi Chis) are sorority members who help us provide information and advice to women who are participating in formal recruitment.  Counselors will actively participate and engage in a semester-long training program focused on counseling and communication skills, recruitment rules, National Panhellenic Council policies, and individual chapter information.

Three returning Recruitment Counselors have been selected as “Senior Pi Chis”.  These seasoned pros will be helping our Pi Chi Directors with the training and administration of our Pi Chi Program.  We are excited to welcome these three leaders back to our Recruitment Team.

Diane Blacido

I’m a Junior at Rutgers University double majoring in Finance and Business Analytics & Information Technology. I currently serve as the DEI Chairman of my chapter and Co-Director of Internal Outreach for Women in Business at Rutgers. I wanted to be a Pi Chi because it is a great way to promote the amazing opportunities that girls gain from rushing. For a long time, I didn’t know if I wanted to join the sisterhood, but when the Pi Chi talked about their own experiences, it made me even more excited to start my recruitment journey. The role allows me to be there for the PNMs in hard times, and when decisions need to be finalized, it’s good to have people to talk to when deciding what chapters you would like to continue with for the rest of the rushing process. I have always believed that you should always give back to the community that also gave you all the support you needed at one point in your life.

Kelsey Briere

I’m a Senior Nursing major, and I served as a Pi Chi last year during recruitment.  I was also my chapter’s Delegate to the Panhellenic Council.  I wanted to be a Pi Chi because I wanted to be one of the first faces of Rutgers Greek Life that the PNMs get to meet. When I went through recruitment, I was so intimidated by the idea of having to talk to sorority girls. Then when I met my PiChis I thought they were so cool and funny and exactly the type of people I wanted to become friends with if I ended up in a sorority. When I got to know them, it gave me the confidence that I needed to finish recruitment in hopes of finding more girls just like them. I want to be that for someone else who is nervous or hesitant about joining Greek Life.

Aylin Fersch

Hi everyone! My name is Aylin and I am a rising Senior majoring in Marketing. Last formal recruitment, I was a Pi Chi and I cannot wait to serve as a Senior Pi Chi this year! I wanted to be a Pi Chi to help PNMs through their recruitment journey. Since I went through informal recruitment in fall, I did not have the opportunity to have a Pi Chi during my experience. I want to be able to give PNMs advice throughout the entirety of recruitment and make them feel comfortable and supported.
