Spring COB (Continuous Open Bidding) takes place immediately after the conclusion of the Panhellenic Council’s Formal Recruitment and allows NPC sororities to continue to invite students to join the organization if there is space on the membership roster.

Regardless of the type of sorority a student wants to join, ALL interested students MUST register for recruitment in order to participate in the process.  Students must also meet the Academic Eligibility criteria outlined by OFSA in order to be considered for membership.  Any academic eligibility issues (grade changes, incomplete credits, class registration, etc.) must be resolved before a student may be invited to join.

FAQ:

  • What chapters are holding recruitment events?  Check individual chapter social media for details about any  additional recruitment events or joining opportunities.
  • Do I have to register for COB?  If you’ve already registered for the NPC Formal Sorority Recruitment you do not need to register again.  Chapters already have access to your information.  If you’ve never registered for any type of spring recruitment you must register with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs to confirm your academic eligibility.  Chapters cannot invite you to join until you have registered and had your eligibility status verified.
  • Is there a registration fee for COB?  No.  There is no fee to sign up for COB recruitment, however there are fees associated with being a sorority member.  Financial Transparency Information is posted on each chapter’s page on our site year-round.  Be sure to review that important information with your parents/family so that you can ensure you can meet a sorority’s financial obligations (dues, fees, housing requirements, etc.).
  • If I participate in the 2026 NPC Formal Recruitment, sign an MRABA, accept a Bid but drop out of the new member program, can I participate in COB and join a different NPC organization? No. The MRABA you signed is a binding agreement, and prevents you from joining another NPC sorority until January 2027.
  • If I participate in the 2026 NPC Formal Recruitment, sign an MRABA, get matched to a sorority but decided to not accept the Bid, can I join a different NPC organization?  No.  The MRABA you signed is a binding agreement, and prevents you from joining any other NPC sorority until January 2027.
